Precision grinding as contract manufacturing
Contract grinding is required whenever components need to meet the tightest tolerances, defined surface finishes or high repeatability. MAS Carbide provides precision grinding according to drawings and specifications. For series parts and demanding applications.
We work with highly accurate CNC precision grinding machines from renowned German and Swiss machine manufacturers. Our equipment includes freely programmable peripheral grinding machines, 3-axis-controlled tool grinding machines, as well as 5- and 6-axis grinding centres. In combination with modern CAD/CAM technology, we create the basis for precise machining, even for more complex requirements.
Our grinding processes:
- Surface grinding / flat grinding
- Profile grinding
- CNC grinding for complex geometries
Materials we machine include:
- Hardened steels and tool steels
- Stainless steels and corrosion-resistant alloys
- Carbide
- Ceramic materials
- Other materials according to drawings and requirements
Benefit from…
Maximum precision
We grind components to the tightest tolerances, ensuring dimensional accuracy even with demanding geometries.
Reproducible results
Stable processes and controlled production ensure that quality does not depend on individual cases, but can be reliably repeated.
Defined surface quality
Through precisely machined surfaces, we improve the function, wear behaviour and technical reliability of the component.
Reduced workload for your own production
You benefit from specialised grinding expertise and modern technology without having to build up your own capacities or invest in machinery.
Precision grinding for finger joint implants
Success story
The challenge
Finger joint implants are tiny components that still have to withstand high loads over many years, fit with absolute precision and enable natural-feeling movement. That is why standard machining or simply choosing the right material is not enough: what matters is a surface that minimises friction, wear and potential microcracks from the very beginning.
The solution
MAS Carbide relies on precision grinding rather than a merely cast or milled final contour. This creates mirror-smooth surfaces and tolerances in the micrometre range, specifically improving biomechanically sensitive bearing surfaces. Grinding turns the blank into a component that meets the requirements of medical technology in terms of function, fit and long-term durability.
The result
The implant moves in a controlled, smooth and snag-free manner. Friction and abrasion are reduced, clinical reliability increases, and quality remains reproducible throughout the process; validated by inspection methods such as surface measurements, wear tests and process capability verification.
Our mission: innovation rooted in tradition. For more than 40 years.
Precision starts with the right process
With experience, modern grinding technology and a strong commitment to quality, we support processes from specification through to the precision machining of the workpiece.
